Interim Zoning Ordinance Amendment to Articles 8 and 11

1.  Call to order

Bill Hatch opened the hearing for public comment at 7:00PM.

Mr. Hatch stated this hearing is for the interim zoning ordinance amendments to Articles 8 and 11 with regard to the development of flood hazard zones. 

Richard Baker stated this is a topic that was discussed at prior Select Board meetings. The town is required to modify the existing Land Use Ordinance due to mandates. The amendments will allow property owners to avail themselves of the National Flood Insurance Program. Mr. Baker noted he does not necessarily agree with all of the language, but it was passed down on a "Take It or Leave It" basis, with no associated funding to enable the town to enforce or administer this item. Mr. Baker also stated this item is on the Select Board meeting agenda for this evening.

Mitch Pearl stated he concurs with Mr. Baker, as this will allow our land owners the opportunity to avail themselves for the flood insurance.

Being no further public comments, the hearing was closed at 7:04PM.
