PUBLIC HEARING - BRANDON TOWN PLAN JAN. 5, 2009
Planning Commissioners present: Lynn Saunders, Anne Bransfield, Linda Stewart, Jon Andrews
Call to Order - Lynn Saunders called the hearing to order at 7:04 pm.
Warning - Acting Chair Lynn Saunders read the Warning of the proposed Brandon Town Plan.
Public Comment: Wayne Rausenberger asked about the requirements for the Child Care and Affordable Housing sections. Lynn Saunders explained there was a new requirement from the State regarding Child Care. There was language in the previous Town Plan regarding Affordable Housing but it is now up to date with new requirements.
Tina Wiles said there is nothing in the Plan about Fire District #2. This should be added.
Tina Wiles said Brandon's Recreation Committee would like language in the Plan to acknowledge increasing access to the Town Forest off Basin Rd. for recreational purposes.
Tina Wiles said the Recreation Committee would like to see new developments in town build sidewalks to connect to a public road. Right now, the DRB cannot mandate a developer build a sidewalk in a new PRD.
Adjourn - Being no further comment, the hearing was closed at 7:15 pm.
