BRANDON PLANNING COMMISSION Jan. 19, 2009Planning Commissioners present: Ethan Swift, Linda Stewart, Anne Bransfield, Lynn Saunders Others present: Tina Wiles Call to Order - The meeting was called to order at 6:40 pm. Discussion of Draft Town Plan The issue of statistics included in the plan was discussed. Specifically, it was felt that specific stats in the plan such as demographics and income could be updated to be more current, but surveys conducted to update information in the state is undertaken periodically per district which makes it difficult to provide a comprehensive update. It is anticipated that Vermont will move to a 5-year cycle as opposed to the current 10-year cycle to provide updates for comprehensive census data. Motion by Saunders/ Bransfield to forward current iteration of draft Town Plan (January 15, 2009 version) as written to Selectboard for their consideration and to initiate the public review process by the administrative body. Motion passed. Brandon Land Use Ordinance Tina Wiles discussed several issues pertaining to her role as Zoning Administrator and the anticipated process to review and revise the Brandon Land Use Ordinance. Tina brought up the current iteration of the land use permit application which could be amended. Specifically, she felt that the permit application could require applicants to provide more information regarding the status of connections to town infrastructure (sewer and water supply) as well as the status of state permits required for certain types of development. Planning commissioners were in agreement with these proposed changes and felt these issues would be good to take up during the process to revise the Brandon Land Use ordinance, anticipated to commence this spring. Adjourn - Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:55 pm. Respectfully submitted
