Brandon Select Board
Public Hearing for Town Plan
April 27, 2009
Select Board Members:
Bruce Brown, Richard Baker, Mitch Pearl, Bill Hatch
In Attendance:
Linda Stewart, Anne Bransfield
Bill Hatch opened the
hearing at 6:30PM.
Richard Baker noted in the
draft that he is responsible for a change that decreases the number of acres in
the forest from 250 to 80 and actually the figure should be 291. Mr. Baker noted
on Page 43, in talking about the Brandon town forest, the figure should be
approximately 290.
Linda Stewart stated that
they have no other information to add or change.
Mitch Pearl questioned
what the procedure is for adopting the Town Plan.
Richard Baker stated since
there is a tracking copy of all the changes, Mr. Baker suggested moving to adopt
the revised town plan and then table until to the next Select Board meeting to
have time to obtain a clean copy and then bring it back up at the next meeting
to approve.
Richard Baker stated the
final draft of the Town Plan represents a great deal of diligence and patience
over the last year in preparing a series of drafts that represents community
consensus of the direction we want to go. There have been public forums and
ample opportunities at the Select Board and Planning Commission meetings for
people to express their concerns. Mr. Baker would like to compliment everyone on
a job well done. He also stated this document represents an improvement to the
2002 Town Plan and includes the most current requirements of Chapter 117 of the
Vermont Statutes.
Bill Hatch recessed the
hearing at 6:59PM.
