You may need a land use permit if you are constructing, subdividing, converting or making structural alterations, which may include signs, home occupations, fences, cutting timber, excavating, landfill operations, or changing or increasing the current use of your property. The Zoning Administrator can be reached at 802-247-0227. Tina Wiles, the Zoning Administrator, would be glad to discuss your proposal with you to determine what town approvals, if any, might be required.

Certificate of Occupancy - If you are a landlord renting out an apartment, house or mobile home, you must obtain a Certificate of Occupancy before your tenant moves in. In addition, every owner of rental property must complete a compliance form each January. The Brandon Rental Housing Ordinance is available on-line at: www.brandon.org/Ordinances/rental.htm.
